What it does
Object Storage gives you the standard S3 API — buckets, objects, multipart uploads, presigned URLs — backed by erasure-coded storage across multiple peer nodes. Your data is split into shards and distributed so no single peer failure loses anything. Compatible with aws-cli, mc, and any S3 SDK.
Pricing reflects the underlying economics: storage on peer disks is cheap, and bandwidth between peers is essentially free for inter-region replication. You get durable object storage without paying the per-GB premium of centralized providers.
